一 · The origin
A Japanese root.
Reiki was born in Japan in the early twentieth century, from the contemplative practice of Mikao Usui (臼井甕男). Hence its name: rei (霊), the sacred and invisible, and ki (気), the energy that sustains all life. Reikitime exists to honor that root, not to dilute it.

To lay on hands. The oldest form of compassion.
For more than a century, the method passed from master to student, crossed oceans and branched into lineages. Reikitime holds several of them — traditional Usui, the direct Japanese lineage, Karuna, Jin Kei Do — and two creations of its own: Shamanic Reiki and Egyptian Reiki.
二 · The school today
Twenty-two years sustaining the practice.
Reikitime is the school founded by Matías Mahia in 2004 and directed in Mexico by Carmen Villarreal Alberich. Twenty-two years guiding others through Reiki, sixteen of volunteer service in the public hospitals of Baja California, an international community present across Latin America, North America and Europe.
We do not seek to turn anyone into a Reiki practitioner. We seek to accompany whoever wishes to reconnect with their own light — with seriousness, with lineage, and without cheap esotericism.
