2006 — Present · 16 years · Expanding

Reiki makes sense when it reaches those who need it.

With over sixteen years of volunteer service in the public hospitals of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, thanks to the close collaboration with the General Hospital Trust.

This is the solid foundation on which everything we share rests: when what is learned in the classroom transcends the merely educational and becomes real initiatives that impact lives, give purpose and help those who need it most.

The institutions

Three places, one same practice.

Institution 01

Tijuana General Hospital.

Oncology patients, family members, doctors and nurses.

Accompaniment during hospital processes. We learned to be present amid difficult situations, focusing not on the illness but on the divinity that rests in each one of them. We have seen extraordinary results and received great blessings.

Institution 02

Invictus Foundation.

In support of the great icons of our wildlife.

In this volunteering work we have the blessing of returning love and dignity to these majestic animals. We accompany the recovery of lions, tigers, bears and other great carnivores that were victims of abuse in circuses and illegal trafficking. The Invictus Foundation opened its doors for us to take part in their surgical interventions and their rehabilitation, a deeply rewarding and transformative experience.

Institution 03

Bebé Cardio.

Tijuana · Baja California · Mexico

Children with heart conditions.

We accompany babies and young children in their pre- and post-operative cardiac stage. It is one of the most humbling and demanding practices we have had the privilege to know. Even so, it is deeply rewarding to see their faces light up, the unconditional love of their families and the medical team sharing such a spiritual experience in a space of the highest professional excellence.

Out of respect for the families and patients, we do not share images of this volunteering.

What changes when you teach this

Three reflections that light up our hearts.

After more than sixteen years of volunteer service in hospitals, there are three reflections that stayed with us:

Reflection 01

Reiki works, but not the way many tell it.

It is not magic, not a miracle, nor a promise of cure. It is a tool of deep accompaniment and personal development.

When a mother holds her child's hand in an intensive care unit, Reiki offers presence, calm and an opportunity for expansion. It relaxes the body, eases stress and opens space for a more loving, conscious and deeply human experience.

Reflection 02

Sharing Reiki with someone going through an illness, or with the family member accompanying them, changes the practice forever.

You can no longer see it simply as a "wellness" technique. It becomes something much deeper: an opportunity to recognize the true nature of love manifesting in all things.

Reflection 03

What happens in our volunteering is not monetized.

It is a pure service of love, where each volunteer offers the most precious thing they have in their life: time. That is where it becomes possible to share energy and compassionate love. This experience opened the way for us to understand the deepest dimension of putting compassion into motion and appreciating life in its most vulnerable and sacred form.

Stories that left a mark

Some stories stay with you.

Case 01

The animal rights lawyer.

Carmen Villarreal Alberich, together with several of our students —professional lawyers—, took the principles of Reiki practice to a level of profound manifestation by dedicating themselves to animal law.

Years later, they were part of the legal team that managed to change the anti-bullfighting laws in their country.

The energy practice gave them an ethical clarity they did not have before. Above all, it allowed them to understand the flow of energy and, with it, the way to manifest their reality on the material plane.

This is what happens when you educate not only the mind, but also the soul: the craft is transformed and generates a real, deep impact full of purpose.

Case 02

The Medical Community.

Doctors, nurses and therapists approached Reiki when they observed, during the first volunteer accompaniments, how their patients' vital signs improved clearly and objectively on the medical monitors.

These measurable results completely ruled out the placebo effect theory.

What began as pure scientific curiosity became, for many, a deep training upon verifying its real clinical usefulness.

Today they are part of an active network of health professionals who integrate Reiki practice both in their private practices and on their hospital shifts.

Carmen and Matías.

In 2005, Carmen and Mati together founded the Reiki volunteering for the Castro Limón Foundation, accompanying children and families in their oncology treatments. Shortly after, the door opened to the Tijuana General Hospital, today the largest and most sustained volunteering in the region. Carmen and the Casa Dakini team have coordinated it ever since.
